Changing Poster Ideas
I decided half way through making my poster that I was not happy with how it was looking and that it wasn't standing out enough. Therefore, I then came to the conclusion that I wanted to make a tour poster as they are the type of poster most seen around in public and in media texts. To begin making my new tour poster I chose a new image which I wanted to use and I mirrored it using Photoshop. I like the effect this gave as it was effective to have the artist next to herself connoting she is twice as strong. This is what the image looked like after I had mirrored it.
I then saved the new image for my tour poster and opened it in picmonkey to add the filter which I used for all the images for my Digipak. Below is what the result was.
Next, I needed to add vital information to my poster like the artists name and album name, also tour dates needed to be added as well as the venues. I then decided that I needed to add some logos for websites like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube to advertise social media which my artist can be found on. Lastly, I put a digital code in the bottom left hand corner so that as people have smart phones now, if they were to scan this, it could take them to a page where they could find their tickets and buy them straight away.
Lastly, I needed to add a logo to my poster which adds a personal touch to the poster as it looks like my artist has signed it. I put this in red which made it stand out from anything else on the poster. Finally, I changed the colour of the artists name and album name so that it was easier to read from afar, I changed the colour from green to white.
Front Cover of Digi-Pak Progress
This is the first front cover for my album which I designed. I liked it as I was at the time going for a black and white theme. But now I have decided not to the black and white does not fit in anymore. I have also changed the name of the album as well so I would need to change that. Because of these factors, I started my album cover again.
Here is the image I am now going to be using instead. I have added a filter to it so that it matches the rest of the images for my album. I like this picture more as the actress is looking straight into the camera lens creating a connection between the actress and the buyer of the CD.
CD for Digipak
Here is my CD. I completely changed it from the previous one I mad. I like this as I have removed my actresses face as the CD hole. I did this because I feel it is effective and gives the actress no identity which is how she is portayed in the music video. I put the artists name and album name at the bottom of the CD so that it is known what the CD is for. I also put a ring of copyright details around the edge of the CD as I saw this as a regular convention for a CD. The image is the same as the one I will be using for my bakc cover but just the opposite as it will have only the actresses face.

Adding Effects
This is a screen shot of my editing in Premier Pro. I am currently adding effects to my video to give it more meaning and so it stands out more. This will also make the whole video more interesting and effective, I have added effects like brightness, contrast and duplicates so far and plan on adding more. For the particular screenshot above I copied the video which was already here and made it on 3 other layers so I had four images altogether at once. This is how it came out when I placed them equally in each corner. I think this adds more emphasis on the drum.

Spine for DigiPak
This is my spine for my digipak. I simply used part of my front cover image so that the image continued round the side of the album. I the used the same writing as I used on the front cover and my poster to show continuity and I wrote the artists name and the album name. I made the writing the same green colour which I have used throughout. I like how simple this is and I will cannot think of anything I want to change so far. I will now put this out on social media to get some feedback.
Back Cover for DigiPak
This is my final Back Cover for my DigiPak. I added a barcode to the top of my back cover as this is a typical convention and it has to be there somewhere to give identification. I then added a list of 8 songs in the same font as I used on the personal message/lyrics on the inside cover for my digipak. I also at the bottom of the back cover added some copyright infringements and a logo to make it look realistic. I am pleased with how this turned out as I wasnt sure about having such a big image of my actress' face, but because of the way I created the CD it fits perfectly and makes sense when the whole digipak is together. I will now post this in a couple of different places on social media and ask for some feedback.
CD for Digi-Pak Progress
This is another experiment with my CD for my digipak. I like it with the black and white but I feel like it is too bland, and I would like some colour so I will change that. Although I am going to change the filter, I want to keep the glitter glare effect as it looks really effective.
This is the new image I have decided to use for my CD. I like this image because it has great focus and the way the model is staring into the camera lens makes a really good connection between the actress/singer and viewer.
This is the new image I have decided to use for my CD. I like this image because it has great focus and the way the model is staring into the camera lens makes a really good connection between the actress/singer and viewer.
I then edited the image making it the right shape fr my digipak and added the filter which I have used on the other images for my digipak.
Poster for Digi-Pak Progress
This is my poster so far. From the last time I uploaded my progress for my poster I have changed the font colour to green, which is the same colour as every other in my digipak to show continuity. I have also changed the glitter glare in the background to something less busy and I have simplified it b getting rid of some of the glitter glare spots. I like how this is coming along at the moment and I will carry on adding some writing and playing around with the image.
Back Cover for Digi-Pak Progress
This is the image I have chose to use for my Back Cover to my Digipak. I have chosen this image because I think It is very intimate as she is glaring right at the camera, and I think this shows the vulnerability of my actress which is what I want to be portrayed. I also like this image because the focus is right on my actress and the background of the city landscape is completely blurred making my actress the main focal point of the whole image, which is really effective.
This is the image edited.I made it square to fit the size of the digipak and I also added a filter, the same one I have used on every other image for my digipak. I like the outcome as it has made the image brighter and the colours have become more vivid.
I will now add writing to the image and create the final back cover for my album.
Inside of Digi-Pak Progress
I started to make my inside cover for my digipak. I decided that for this I would make a collage of images taken of my actress and write a personal message or some sort of lyrics. Once I put together all of the images which I wanted to use and arranged them in a pleasing way, I then had to make a decision on whether I like it in black and white, or colour with the effect I had used on my other digipak pictures.
This is the inside cover in black and white. I like it because it is very contrasting but it is also odd as all the rest of my digipak images are in colour therefore when all put together it would stand out as being different and not showing continuity.
This is my digipak inside cover in colour. I prefer this to the black and white version a lot more as it livens up the whole picture. It makes the inside cover stand out with all the different colours and the filter I put on it makes it even more vivid. Once I had decided this I then had to think about the message/lyrics that I would be writing on top. I came to the conclusion of using a section of lyrics from the song that I have made a music video for, "On the day you wake up needing somebody and you've learn it's okay to be affraid". I chose these lyrics as they are meaningful and I feel that the people who would buy and listen to this album would find these lyrics inspiring. I then put the name of my artist after the lyrics and they are by her. "Harper Hayden". Next I had to choose a font which fitted and a colour which stood out against the coloured background.
This is the first font I chose to write my message in. I liked it but it didn't quite fit the rest of my digipak, the font was too different. Although the font wasn't right I liked the colours which I chose. I make two layers with the message on both, one in white, and one in the green colour I have been using throughout the whole digipak. I did this because the green colour alone wasn't very visible on top of the images. Therefore, I put the white beneath i which made it stand out a lot more and made it readable.
Keeping the colours the same as the previous message font I tried, I only changed the font this time. I found a font which suited the digipak more, it is thinner and more appropriate. I like the look of this font more and I will use it for other parts of my digipak.

Problem
For the past week of media I have been stuggling to upload any images to my blog. For some reason wherever I am it will not allow me to add an image to my blog, I do not know why and I havent been able to solve it just yet. I plan to ask my teacher to help me sort it as I have vital pictures to upload.
